Falun, Sweden
A printing house in Sweden with a long tradition
The story of the ScandBook dates back to 1911, when book publisher Birger Wahlström founded Wahlströms Bokförlag. In 1918, the activity was expanded. Not only publishing, but also printing and bookbinding have begun. This has become a solid foundation for more than a century of manufacturing tradition.
In 1958, an important change took place – publishing and production activities were separated, and the publishing department was reorganized into B. Wahlströms Bokindustri AB. Due to growing volumes, the production facilities in Stockholm became too cramped, so the company was relocated to Falun in 1967. The strategic location provided more convenient logistics and better conditions for employees.
In 1982, the company became J. A. Lindblads Bokförlag AB subsidiary and was renamed ScandBook AB. Since then, the printing house has also started to work actively with external customers.
Over the next decades, the company changed owners, expanded production, and in 2015 merged with Print IT in Klaipėda. Today production takes place both in Sweden and Lithuania, and since 2025 in Denmark.
