Sustainability and ESG in ScandBook operations
ScandBook operates in accordance with environmental requirements and ESG principles. Therefore, we pay special attention to transparency, responsible use of resources and reduction of environmental impact.
Sustainable paper origins and logistics
About 80 per cent of book paper comes from Europe. ScandBook mainly imports book paper from Sweden, reducing transport distances and CO₂ emissions. Shorter supply chains reduce the environmental footprint and ensure more sustainable publishing practices.
Responsible waste management
The company ensures that any hazardous substances are treated properly. Waste paper and other production waste are sorted and handed over for recycling to specialised companies. In this way, we contribute to a circular economy and resource efficiency.
Sustainability story
ScandBook began to shape the direction of sustainability in 2019, and 2020 became the base year from which all environmental data is systematically recorded and analysed. Since then, the company has consistently measured and monitored its environmental impact to ensure transparency, accountability and real progress.
The climate targets are aligned with the requirements of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and were updated and adopted in 2025. This further strengthens our commitment to a net-zero future.
